I Hate This Type of News
Read This , what do you think? I'm trying to convince myself that Kuwait is a civilises, modern, constitutional and an institutional country (wow! those words are big!) , but this type of news keeps telling me that we're still a tribal country. Sheikh is healed.. money for everybody! makes no sense to me, if this person is healed and wanted to celebrate that, or make a feast with his own money then it's OK, but giving people government money for that cause isn't reasonable nor fair.

Yes, you're right, they should tax us like they do the Americans, sound fair yet?
Thing is, we're a rich country, and our leaders always look after us, and he's not the first to give out money because he was very ill but is now feeling better.
You should look beyond this being simply a tribal matter, there is more beyond it here: it's simple good will towards the people he governs. I for one, am thrilled to know that my leader is in good health, and more money means I can splurge on some PS3 games. Two good news!
For the record, instead of us splurging government money at outside countries that have a 90% chance of badmouthing us in their own twisted definition of thanks, as Kuwaitis, we're more entitled than they'll ever be. Yes, I know, not a popular opinion on the public forum, but you'd be surprised.
Finally, to risk sounding combative, whether we have tribal-esque "ways" or not, as long as we're comfortable in our country, everyone else can mind their own business: whether outside forces try to dub us as tribal or not, we're happy, so all is well.

My opinion might not count to you but I'm one uncomfortable-with-our tribalesque-ways Kuwaiti agreeing with Bo9agr. It's bad management to say the least. :)

i don't want then to tax us, but atleast do something good for all of us with kuwaiti money instead of spending it like that for unfair reasons.
we should think forward, think about our future, our children's future, not our own limited fantasies, thank you.
